EIGHT SELECTED WORKS from
100 DAYS OF BLOOMING LOVE
The Octopus Literary Salon, 2101 Webster St, Oakland, CA
October / November 2018
While drawing these plants in a 100 day practice in 2015, I realized how much we are like them. Though we live in a different form and timescale, we are the roses, the daffodils, the redwood trees and the gardenia -- we are the choices we make, we are beautiful sadness, we are strength, we are gentleness. We are all these things and more when we take the time to notice.
I’ve always felt these flowers are like warrior messengers. My hope is that each of the drawings will remind those who encounter them that they can find the same beauty and power in these plants embodied within themselves. Here is a gallery of some of the flower drawings and prompts that were created by our good friends at Gratitude Blooming.
